More Detail
Below is an outline which covers the primary items that are completed for each project. Throughout the design and implementation of a site, communication is crucial. SEO is highly dependent on powerful content, and nobody knows your ideal customers better than you.
1.0 Search Engine
Optimization
1.1
Keyword Analysis & Recommendation
The first step in an optimization strategy is to determine keywords
and phrases upon which to build a new site. We will work with
you to gather core phrases in your industry, which your ideal
customers may be using. Those phrases will be analyzed for
frequency of search within the major search engines, and how your
industry competitors use them.
Keywords will be used in determining all
elements of optimizing your site, including: Website URL, Meta
Keywords, Descriptions, Page Titles, Internal Links, Page Content,
and other structural components.
1.2
URL Recommendation
Based on keyword analysis and your feedback, we will recommend an
available domain name to be used for your new site.
1.3
On Page Optimization Elements
Whether an existing site or new site requires optimization, the same
elements will be completed. These include: Determination of
URL, Page Titles, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, Image Alt Tags,
Copy-Editing and other elements that are useful in enhancing a
webpage’s potential page ranking.
Client must provide 150 to 200 words per webpage for the optimized pages to be effective. StoneRaven, at the client’s discretion, will edit the content as appropriate to enhance the content's optimization.
2.0 Website Design
2.1
Utilizing an Existing StoneRaven Design
We have designed CSS websites that are optimized for Search Engines.
These include, text based Menu systems, an information request form,
Google Analytics Code and content. Due to their format
creation, they will take less editing, and while utilizing keywords
and content, will be fully optimized. This quote is
valid for up to 10 web pages and 20 external links.
The following examples demonstrate
existing optimized StoneRaven designs:
www.oc3bids.com
www.coloradoendocrinology.com
2.2
Utilizing a Template from TemplateMonster.com (or other source)
TemplateMonster.com houses inexpensive professionally designed
website templates for download. Due to their large number of
web designers, each site's structure is unknown and editing is
sometimes complex. In addition to editing the site's contents,
each page will need to be individually optimized. However, if
you find a design you really like, the extra effort may be worth the
visual appeal.
3.0 Domain
Registration, Hosting & E-Mail
3.1
Domain Registration
StoneRaven currently uses fatcow.com for all client websites. We
prefer to register domains utilizing Fatcow, manage the domains
using integrated tools available, and setup corresponding sites on
Fatcow servers. However, you may choose which service to
register and manage your domains.
3.1
12 Month Hosting Plan Using Fatcow.com
Fatcow offers DS3 server connectivity and a fully managed platform.
If a client wishes to use another service, StoneRaven may charge
additional fees in order to adhere to the other platform’s
requirements.
3.2
E-Mail Accounts
An unlimited number of e-mail accounts are included in the Fatcow
Hosting plan. This enables you to use your new domain
name in all the e-mail addresses. i.e. name@yourdomain.com
3.3
E-Mail Account Setup / Deletion
StoneRaven can setup and manage e-mail accounts on your behalf.
We will setup the account online, and instruct you how to setup the
account within Outlook.
3.4
E-Mail Auto-Responder Setup
Auto-responders may be setup to automatically generate e-mails sent
to specific e-mail addresses. Typical uses are auto-generated
thank-you e-mails, and notifying an individual that they will
receive a call within a certain time period.
Disclosure: StoneRaven is an
authorized reseller of Fatcow services.
4.0 Maintenance –
SEO
Search engines will visit a site more
often, as the frequency of site updates increase. The more
often a search engine visits a site, the more potential of
increasing a website’s position in the rankings. This becomes
increasingly important once a site attains a primary position.
In order to keep a site’s top positioning, it may be important to
increase its update frequency.
Our recommendation is to start with Quarterly site updates for the first 6 months. At that point, depending on results that have been achieved, a more frequent update schedule may be advised. However, if a first page position is attained earlier than 6 months, a more frequent update schedule should be enacted more quickly.
5.0 Maintenance –
Website Content
You always have the option of updating
website content yourselves, or utilizing StoneRaven. Once a
site has been created, and final payment has been received, account
access will be provided.
5.1
Web Updates – Hourly Rate
Use for minimal content changes, or a full day of dedicated work on
your site.
5.2
Web Updates – Flat Monthly Fee
Best used during the first 6 months, once the site has been
published and when tweaking content is most crucial.
Additionally, StoneRaven will be free to edit site contents while
reviewing the site’s performance, without requiring additional
invoicing.
6.0 Reports *
6.1
Search Engine Position for Keywords
We will keep an eye on how your pages are being tracked by the
“Major” Search engines. This includes the ranking of the
search term, and the page position of the term. Once a search
engine has indexed a site, positions may change frequently. If
you would like to receive scheduled reports via e-mail, these can be
requested.
6.2
Structure Analysis
Many websites are inherently full of errors, which hinder a
search engine’s ability to navigate it completely. A
search engine follows links throughout a website, and if it gets
stuck, it will leave the site. Only pages that can be reached
are indexed properly. We can provide you an in-depth report
showing all potential errors present in your site. This report
may be useful for your existing web-developer.
* Note: we have many report types
available. If there is specific information you would like to
track, please let us know.
7.0 Google Analytics &
Account Setup
Google Analytics is an online tool that
enables the tracking of visitor behavior on your website. It
is instrumental in measuring the success of your SEO strategy.
Google Analytics enables you to determine a course of action to
continue improving results.
Included with building a website is account setup and instruction on high-level usage of Google Analytics. We will also cover how to interpret the data.
8.0 Search Engine &
Directory Submission
8.1
Search Engine Submission - Google, MSN, Etc.
Once a site has been built and uploaded, we will notify the
top search engines. It is not important to send the site to
hundreds of search engines, as most search engines get their results from
MSN, Yahoo and Google. Note that approximately 64% of
all internet searches are done using Google, 21%-Yahoo, 9%-MSN,
3%-Ask.com, with 3% on all the others.
8.1a
Yahoo Directory Submission
Yahoo charges for site submission and review within their directory
structure. You can submit to their directory yourselves,
or ask us to assist.
Sitemaps help guide a search engine through your site.
Included in the search engine submission, is the creation and
submission of a XML site map.
8.2
Directory Submission – DMOZ.org
DMOZ is an online directory that is managed by human volunteers.
Its importance should not be underestimated. Google and Yahoo
check DMOZ regularly for new and existing websites. If your
site appears in DMOZ, your site has probably been crawled by Google
and Yahoo prior to your manual search engine submissions.
9.0 Pay-Per-Click
Campaign Management
StoneRaven can assist you in setting up,
managing and tracking your account through Google Analytics.
Additionally, we will build landing pages to be targeted during your
campaign. It is not required to optimize these pages, as your
visitors will be reaching the page through paid search results.
The pages should, however, offer compelling marketing copy to
encourage the visitor to complete a request for information or make
a purchase instantly.
10.0 Link Partner
Recommendations
The more high quality inbound links a
website receives, the more valid the site appears to a search
engine. The higher the rank of the linking website, the more
valuable the link appears, and your site as well. You cannot
underestimate an inbound link’s importance.
Building a network of link partners
requires a great deal of time, but may substantially increase your
search engine relevance and rankings. We use tools that can
identify link partners within and outside your industry. We
can provide the Partner recommendations to you, and you can decide
whether to communicate with those prospects. StoneRaven can
communicate and track those communications on your behalf.
